Tomorrow (Sunday, May 1) Epistle Reading:

From: 1 Peter 3:15-17

Undeserved Suffering is a Blessing
----------------------------------
[15] But in your hearts reverence Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to
make a defense to any one who calls you to account for the hope that is
in you, yet do it with gentleness and reverence; [16] and keep your
conscience clear, so that, when you are abused, those who revile your
good behavior in Christ may be put to shame. [17] For it is better
to suffer for doing right, if that should be God's will, than for doing
wrong.

I think this says it all.

Great minds, Cardinal. I went to Mass tonight praying my heart out and examining and re-examining my conscience just to be sure. Reading that was such an affirmation.

Tomorrow is the feast of St. Joseph the Workman on the traditional Calendar and this is the Epistle for that day:

"Brethren: Have charity, which is the bond of perfection. And may the peace of Christ reign in your hearts; unto that peace, indeed, you were called in one body. Show yourselves thankful. Whatever you do in word or in work, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. Whatever you do, work at it from the heart as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. Serve the Lord Christ." (Colossians 3)

I haven't received Holy Communion for nearly three weeks because I've had a sinus infection. Please pray for me that I might make a worthy Communion tomorrow.
