Paul (aka Catholic Cadet) and I have been playing with new blog software, WordPress. It gives us considerably more flexibility, like searching and categorizing posts, and uploading images. Check it out over at Paul's server . Let us know what you think...

I agree with that. I like the way the other board is..but the cosmetics on this one I like better.
LJD, Jeni: There are a ton of themes for WordPress here.
If there's one you particularly like, let me know and I'll have Paul upload it.
I concur with the above. One question, though, why are we linking to DCF now?
I put that there. If you want, I can take it off. The link to DCF that's on my main site will stay however.
Ok, I'm confused. Are we on your main site or not? And why are we going over to your site? Im not trying to be rude just trying to figure out why all this moving is neccessary.
Ask Chad about why its moved over, he can explain it better. My main site is the non-blog portion, where I have my articles and such.
It's not necessary, it's just an idea. As I've said before, there are several things that Blogger doesn't do that would be nice to have, such as the ability to moderate comments and track back blogs. It's also hard to post pictures, though it can be done.
However, Bekah and Jeni, you bring up some valid objections. I am not happy with a link to DCF, seeing all we've been through. And being tied to Paul's server, while it's not a big deal to me, is an issue. So, maybe we should just stay at Blogger. No sweat.

That isn't connected to the blog at all (and I don't intend at present to link to the blog from my main site).
No offense intended to you at all, Paul. It's just that my primary reason in leaving that board was because of the propensity for scandal from the behavior of the administrators, so to turn around and link back to them pretty much negates that. ;) I don't mind being linked with YOU, but don't want to be linked to THEM.
One thing that I would like to see, if we're playing around with format and stuff, is that it would be nice if our patron saints were listed more prominently on our page. I'd like to see them nearer the top instead of at the bottom like they are. But, it's just a minor thing.
Maybe what we could do is archive the posts somewhere else, and be able to categorize them that way? I'm not very knowledgeable about these blog things, though, so I don't know if that would be more effort than it's worth.
A big reason in favor of the switch is that it seems like blogger goes down a lot. It's been at least 4 times that I haven't been able to access it when I've tried, and I know my husband has found it down additional times. Very annoying. ;)
Ok..thanks for the explanations...I see no problems at all...and I like our new Holy Fathers pic!
